This week's Step Up sessions were literally out of this world!

This week at Step Up, we were stranded on a desert island! In numeracy, we challenged ourselves with quizzes about coordinates on maps. We worked out where all of the different features of the island were, and eventually located the hidden treasure by putting our coordinates skills to the test! In literacy, we carried out a real-life treasure hunt! After learning some important factors about instructions and how to create accurate ones, pupils ventured out around the school. Everyone created fantastic directions to the treasure that was hidden around the building. In creativity, we embarked on some exciting expeditions based around the desert island. We solved maths questions and defined different types of words such as adjectives and verbs, in order to win the most activities. Most of us managed to escape the sharks in the hula hoop race! We can't wait for next Saturday, where our theme will be outer space: watch this space for a summary of our interstellar sessions next week! In literacy this week we worked as detectives to solve the murder of our beloved hero -Rebecca. Using evidence from the scene of the crime we planned interrogations of our top suspects. Our heroes were questioned on their every moment in an attempt to reach the truth. Using everything we had learnt from our suspects each student wrote up a brilliant report informing the school what had happened. A special shout out to Louise from Arena who had her first week at Step Up this Saturday and was awesome! |
